AREA AND FINANCE
The total area of Heliopolis branch in El Shorouk City is three times bigger than the area of the main club in Heliopolis. Thus, that area is clearly more suitable for all developmental and improving future possibilities made by both directors and members. Considering the fact that the main club in Roxy cannot tolerate the amazing increase in the number of members to the limited area of the land. The total area is about 60acres. Only 54.5acres are used for the inside constructions, and the rest is outside parking areas. The financing problem then had appeared. But the members of Heliopolis club could solve this problem to show their appreciation to their home club. The public committee agreed to let the board accept the membership of 1000 new applicants for four to five years. Even if the number of membership applications had exceeded 400 each year, the board would have never accept more than 150 applicants in the past years. That is because the policy of the club is very precise concerning new membership applicants. Which states that financing our projects will never affect our social and intellectual standards no matter what the reasons are.

SHOROUK HELIOPOLIS CLUB, DREAM OF THE 21ST CENTURY
The great idea of building another extension of the club began in 1983. The club was offered 4000acres of woods, wind shielded by a barrier of thick wild trees in the outskirts of the 10th. of Ramadan city. The land was only offered to be protected against wind and other damaging environmental conditions, and to form a special club to care for those wild trees. That project, however, was killed before it was even born due to many financial factors. After that, many more ideas were born, but in different directions and other different cities. For the Heliopolis club, there were lots of choices in cities like El Rehab, New Heliopolis City, El Talaea, and the airport yard. A complete study was then conducted to cover everything about the project. For instance, the exact time needed, the distance to and from Heliopolis main club in Roxy, along with all other utilities like sewage, water, electricity, dimensions of the land, cost, total area used, possibilities of extensions, surroundings society and environment, public transportation, highways and roads. In the beginning, El Rehab City was chosen. It was described to be very convenient as a place for establishing the club, and as a special society for the club members. But the first choice was for El Shorouk City. Unfortunately, some members of the public committee then rejected the whole project. The board of Directors then wisely handled the reasons for that rejection, then there were no more excuses for the plan to be rejected. The project had again been proposed to the members of the public committee, and the club witnessed the strongest project support ever. Almost all members of the committee agreed it on. Agreements were collected, connections were made with the Minister of Housing and re-constructions But then, the proposal was refused again by the Ministry of Housing and re-constructions. For this, plans were redirected again towards El Rehab City. But after several negotiations with the Ministry done by the board of directors, and lead by Minister Foad Sultan, the Ministry had finally agreed on giving El Shorouk land back to Heliopolis club. That time, the deal was made with much better terms of possession, and more timing needed for establishing the club.

THE BEACH
The beach is considered one of the most beautiful qualities of the unique location. This is due to the effort made to create such beauty. Beginning the project was 15 years after buying the land. Those years gave some people the chance to dump their waste in the land, and therefore, we had to plow the land of the whole beach down to a depth of 10 meters. Then the sand was substituted with marvelous white sand. Same sand was also used to build the chalets and corridors to create an exceptionally harmonized view. Smooth and flat passages were also designed to be as free as possible from steps and stairs. This was very much taken into consideration. It was to achieve a great degree of easiness for the elders, and enable the children to easily ride their bikes; scooters and skateboards on the passages with no obstacles to guarantee complete safety of the members and their families. We also supported the beach with the best beach utilities of the kind. These included umbrellas, tables, seats for the member’s comfort and luxury, and to please our members with the maximum joy, fun and beach relaxation. Our location was also very professionally designed. The main entrance, for instance, was not just a simple gate. Instead, it was a 12m. high air flow attraction, where standing of top of it, you can easily view the sea. It actually attracts the cold air coming from the sea, drops it down under to create total ventilation for the whole place. Keeping in mind that the locations of the chalets were particularly designed to permit only small spaces between them. This was not unintentionally done, but it was very cautiously planned to be that small to increase the speed of the air passing through the chalets, and to ease its motion for maximum ventilation. Our special resort is also provided with a car park, all modern technological techniques, highly professional water system and sewage. That is plus providing all the electronic devices with ultimate qualities and least prices. This is only because, to all the company working on our project, only the genuine name of "Heliopolis Club" speaks for itself. Therefore we were successfully able to overcome all the shortage problems of electricity, sewage and water.I truly wish we'd continue establishing another Resort in El Areesh, and in many other places to strengthen the social and family bonds, and spread security, social peace and love among us all.

ACCURATE PLANNING OF THE RESORT
The Resort was particularly planned to guarantee that each person gets his fair share of privacy to have his own sea view, front and back yards without being exposed to the others’ curios eyes. The wide space of the fully equipped and totally furnished chalets provides a soothing atmosphere for one to spend a vacation enjoying the life of the group. Using highly technical methods was only to create perfectly ventilated chalets. This was made to create the best indoor temperature. So, it is no wonder to find that the temperature inside the chalets is at least 3 degrees less than the outside. The places where the furniture, rugs, curtains…. etc brought were particularly chosen to match the delicate taste of the members of Heliopolis Club. The blocks used to cover the outer walls of the buildings were made of the same rocks of "El Alameen" and "Matrouh" road. That is beside using pale colors for both the inside and the outside of the buildings to make one feel like the whole place is only a part of the natural surrounding environment. That’s of course plus filling the whole land with lots of desert plants and trees that can survive the hot weather and salty water conditions to add a remarkably artistic touch to the scenery.

HELIOPOLIS RESORT
THE UNIQUE LOCATION
The location of the Heliopolis Cleopatra Resort is one of the most beautiful, most exquisite locations in Marsa Martrouh. This is because of its exceptionally special features. A very long reef beginning with the Heliopolis Club Resort, and ending at El Gharam beach characterizes it. The place has been considered dramatically important because the Roman monuments, the Cleopatra bathes and the Mediterranean Sea are right behind it. To its right, there is the "Allam Company Resort", which is a very tranquil place as well. Heliopolis Resort is also 10 minutes away from "El Abiad" and "Ageeba". 10 minutes to the mosque of Sidi El Awwam, which is considered the highest point of old Marsa Matrouh. It only takes 20 minutes to get to "Rommel" from the Resort and 5 minutes to get to Cleopatra and enjoy its breathtaking baths and monuments. Moreover, this special location is only sometime away from the "Rommel" area, but the distance here is for the best, as the Rommel area is always crowded and full of so many visitors. This is what a regular visitor to Marsa Matrouh understands well. Any visitor can easily notice how unique the place of our Resort is. It is very well known for a fact that it is the perfect place for any family to spend a full week enjoying every minute. A family can spend maximum two days visiting the fantastic sites of Marsa Matrouh, and then spend the rest of the week enjoying the crystal clear sea, the white sandy beach and the absolutely relaxing atmosphere. Therefore, admiring the beauty of the place, one can easily say that if Laila Mourad had lived to see the purely fascinating Resort of Heliopolis Club, she would have sang for its wonders as well.

History of Helopolis club
The Heliopolis Sporting Club was founded on January 1, 1910 by the "Cairo Electric Railways and Heliopolis Oases Co." which managed until December 31, 1921. In January 1, 1922, the club members took over the management by virtue of a contract signed with the company. At that time, the area of the club stretched from its present location, all through the 4th district "Ard El Golf" which was allocated to the club golf course.
The first three Chairmen of the Board (until March 8th 1949) were british. They were: Dr. P. Phillips Dr. P. H. Henderson Dr. J. R. Aldercotte
The director of the club, until the 15 of February 1952, was Mr. E. W. Langtry.
The club by-laws were set on October 28, 1928 and were approved by the Clubs General Assmbly. These by-laws were later modified on sevral instances.
Since it was founded, the club name is the "Heliopolis Sporting Club", its permanent location being Heliopolis (Misr El Gedida). The Club colours were pale and dark blue and its badge consisted of a lotus flower, the pharaohs "key of life" and the risisng sun (symbol of Heliopolis ) with the name of the club inserted in the center.
The club was under Royal Patronage from July 27, 1938 until the July 1952 Revolution.
The activities of the club included water polo, swiming, diving, squash, tennis, golf, cricket, hokey, bridge, bowling and dancing.
In 1947, the area of the club was reduced to its present size (around 19 feddans ) after the company took back the land of the golf course. Golf was cancelled after the frequent objections of club members, during General Assembles, to the large expenses incurres by the game which was, after all, only played by a few members
Until the 60's, the club regulation limited the membership to 4000 members. This number was considered suitable for the club area
The club contract was renewed on February1, 1957 for 25 years renewable, for a nominal rent of 100 L.E. per annum after which the club claims ownership of the buildings.
On March 8, 1943 Saba Pasha Habashi was the first Egyptian to become a board member.
On March 24, 1949 Nagib Pasha Iskander was the first Egyptian to be appointed Chairman of the Board.
Wing Commander Adly El Shafei was the first Egyptian to become, in September 15, 1952, the club director.
One of the most notable patriotic stands for the club was the decision taken on november 20, 1951, by the Board of Directors chaired by Nagib Pasha Iskander, Ibrahim Bey Abdel Wahab, Mr. Fikri Makram Ebid, Wing Commander Adly El Shafei and Mr. Moustafa Kamel Mansour on the occasion of the incdents that took place in the Suez Canal Region.
The decisions were as follows:
To forbid british members ( 117 members ) from entering the club.
To give the british secretary leave of absence for two months after which his position was to be reconsidered.
To forbid selling of british goods at the club.
These decisions are to be made public on the notice board of the club.
